August 19, 1967: Marineland

Diary entry for August 19, 1967:

We ate lunch at home and then went to Marineland. A fascinating place. We saw a whale show and a seal and porpoise show. We all loved it. Saw a big tank of fish and a frogman feeding fish underwater. We went way up a skytower. Last we took an hour boat cruise on ocean. It was really fun. David Wayne got cold and had to have a blanket. We took 11 pictures. Really had a good day.

Unfortunately I don't have any of those pictures from Marineland, so they either didn't turn out good enough to keep or they got lost at some point. Of course I do have various items Mom kept from our visit, so below are scans of the foldout brochure.

Hopefully we'll visit there again, because your fun never stops at Marineland!

As I mentioned in the August 5 diary entry, Marineland closed in 1987 after it was purchased by the owners of SeaWorld who moved the majority of the animals in the middle of the night and filled the drains with concrete.
